What is your reaction to Socrates’ position that each of us has a role to which we are best suited in society? (Delve into his notions about of the three roles alloted to people and how he determines them). Do you think that there are ever occasions when we should put aside our personal ambitions or desires for the sake of the common good (see video below)? If you think this may apply in some cases, would it not be a good idea in normal circumstances also? Why is this not something that most people would subscribe to?
