This week we are writing about the following text:
“Superman and Me,” by Sherman Alexie
“How to Tame a Wild Tongue,” by Gloria Anzaldua
“3 ways to speak English” – this is a 4 minute TED, Jamila Lyiscott
Answer the following four questions for two of the above texts (TED can be considered a text). You decide which two you will write about (25 points). Your response should be well thought-out and relate directly to the text. Each response should be 4-7 sentences.

Identify the guiding metaphor in the text? Remember that a metaphor is a figure of speech in which a word or phrase is applied to an object or action to which it is not literally applicable. What do you notice about how the metaphor helps the writer make their main point?

What important points does the writer conclude about their own literacy story?
