If we consider the three paintings below as commentaries on human behavior and its consequences, what kinds of messages and values do they communicate? In what ways were these messages and values similar? In what ways were they different? Use at least six (6) primary sources from this week to illustrate or contradict the messages and values you see communicated in these three pieces of art.

The Garden of Earthly Delights is the modern title given to a triptych oil painting on oak panel painted by the Early Netherlandish master Hieronymus Bosch. A triptych is a folded set of panels used for religious devotion either on a church altar or in a private chapel.

What relevant information does our textbook provide to help set your discussion in an appropriate historical context as relates to ideals and practices of Renaissance rulers? Use the images in the slide deck to help organize what you find. Now relate what you discover in the primary sources in your analysis of ideals and practices of princely governments before 1600. Make sure to take the point of view of the sources into consideration as you evaluate them.
