What may have motivated this character to share his tale so long after the event?

An author’s choice of narrator or point of view tends to lead the reader into a
particular version of reality. In “The Cask of Amontillado” by Edgar Allan Poe,
Montressor is telling his story fifty years after committing the murder. What may
have motivated this character to share his tale so long after the event? Is
Montressor a sociopath, or does he possess a conscience? Use evidence from the
story, as well as researched material, to support the answers to these questions.
REQUIREMENTS:
At least 5 paragraphs in length
At least 8 sentences in each paragraph

Do not use first or second person pronouns

Must contain at least 3 direct quotes from the short story in addition to
quotes from other sources
