The Hajj. One of the Five Pillars of Islam is the Hajj, or pilgrimage to the holy places. Drawing back to the origins of Islam, it has become a requirement for all faithful Muslims at least once in their life. Include in your paper, in no particular order, the following:

Look at the rules for attaining the state of ihram before going on the hajj. How might this affect the way Muslims think about themselves after going on the hajj? (LO 9.2, 9.3)
What is the role of women as it pertains to the Hajj? Are they allowed the same access as men? (LO 9.1, 9.6)
