Module 2 Summary & Reflections
Introduction
In this module, you learned about the instructional design models that applied in instructional design and technology (IDT). You will summarize what you have read and reflect on what you have learned in this module.
1. Write a two-part summary/reflection paper after you have completed the Module 2 readings and Research Paper.
Part 1: Instructional Design Models. Base your response on a) the Reiser & Dempsey (R&D) Section II: Instructional Design Models readings; and b) the knowledge and insight you gained completing the Reaction Paper.
Summarize the most significant learning points you learned about instructional design models during the module, based on the R&D Section II reading, Reaction Paper write up, and additional resources suggested or found.
Reflect on how what you learned and thought about instructional design models during the module applies to your professional development and work. Incorporate responses to the following questions into Part 1 of your paper:
How will the information in this module affect how your approach to designing instruction, either alone or as part of a team?
How has your perceptions of the process of instructional design changed after exploring this module?
What more would you like to learn about in regards to the information related to instructional design models covered in the R&D Section II readings and in the preparation of the Reaction Paper.
Part 2: Theories & Models of Learning & Instruction. Base your response on a) the R&D Section III: Theories and Models of Learning and Instruction readings; and b) the knowledge and insight you gained completing the Reaction Paper.
Summarize the most significant learning points you learned learning to the theories and models of learning and instruction during the module, based on the R&D Section III readings, Research Paper write up, and additional resources suggested or found. Be specific, list several of the key learning points in the material, and reference pages in the material.
Reflect on how what you learned and thought about learning/instructional theories and models during the module applies to your professional development and work. Incorporate responses to the following questions into your paper:
How will the information in this module influence your own personal theories of how you and others learn?
How will you apply this information in how you use various technologies for instruction?
What impact will this module make on how you design instruction to motivate learners?
What more would you like to learn about in regards to the information related to learning/instructional theories and models covered in this module?
2. Your paper should be double-spaced and about two pages in length (one page for each of the two parts). There should be one-inch margins at the top, bottom, left, and right. Text should be in 12-point serif font. Include your name in the top right corner of each page. Use proper academic English. Use APA style formatting for any citations and references you provide.
