Final version for grade: July 17th.
Research Project: Based on Essay #1 – Short Story
Create an Annotated Bibliography and place the citations in alphabetic order by the author’s last name.
An annotated bibliography looks like a Works Cited page but under each citation, you write a brief summary of the source ; and then a brief evaluation of the source. You should use your own words for the summary and write in the present tense. For the Evaluation of short story: use your own words when writing the evaluation. Answer these questions: What part of the story you like best? Why? What part of the story is difficult to understand? Why? Would you recommend this story? Why yes, why not. Please do not copy and paste the questions in the annotated bibliography. Simply answer the questions.
The Annotated bibliography should list the citations for
· The short story you selected
· the new outside source you include in essay 1 from Hostos Literature Database.
· your revised essay 1
When you cite your own essay, you have to follow the MLA guidelines for annotated bibliography;
A works-cited-list entry for an unpublished student paper should include the author, title of the paper (in quotation marks), and date. The name of the course, the institution for which the paper was prepared, and the type of work can be provided as optional information at the end of the entry:
Leland, Dina. “Designing websites with Preschool Learners in Mind: Two Approaches
Compared.” 4 Sept. 2017. User Experience 101, Dunham College, student paper.
Under the citation, summarize your essay in 4 – 6 sentences and for the evaluation of your essay answer these questions: what do you like best about your essay and what do you think it needs improvement (do not include grammar).
So, your research project is the annotated bibliography and your revised essay 1 (which must include a source from Hostos Database. If you already have used a Hostos Database article in your first draft , you are required to research and include a new article.
