Design a study requiring logistic regression. The study can either be based on an existing data set or you can design your own data collection.The outcome variable must be binary and there must be validation.
PROBLEM: What “problem” motivates the study (must be substantiated by the literature)?
LIT REVIEW: Summarize several key studies that help to justify the study (appropriate citations and references required)
RESEARCH QUESTION: Clarify the research question(s)
STUDY DESIGN: Clarify the study design (sample, sample size, research design, data collection method) for collecting the data for a new study or the nature of the secondary data set (same content as above).
VARIABLES/MEASUREMENT: Clarify the dependent and explanatory/predictor variables and how they will be measured. Give enough detail about your measures so the instructor can understand what the variables were and where they came from. Note: Make sure that the outcome variable is binary (even if you have to create a cut-score from a different variable).
LOGISTIC REGRESSION METHODS: Clarify the logistic regression method (all variables entered, forward stepwise, hierarchical, etc) that will be used for the study (and why). Describe your validation approach.
Grading will be based on the completeness and quality of responses. Please organize your responses by the outline above.
