Her pediatrician is concerned that she might have Marfan syndrome (see Chapter 8, pages 180–181) and orders an echocardiogram to see if she has cardiac involvement. Even though the echo is negative, the pediatrician refers Jasmine to the connective tissue disorder clinic at a nearby children’s hospital.
