How will you establish personal credibility as a leader? How will you model the way for others?
Emphasizing the importance of the organization’s values and clarifying my own values so that the teams realize the values are the same (Kouzes and Posner, 2017, Marshall and Broome, 2021). By believing in myself, I will establish credibility. I will make sure every team member feels special by influencing and motivating them to be more and do better. I will be an authentic leader by working on self-development and improving the relationship between leader and followers. Working in harmony with others in the organization, showing confidence while working toward goals, showing the ability to get things done.
What strategies will you use to inspire a shared vision for those you lead?
Visionary leaders always look towards the future for challenges, opportunities, and being accountable. Vision is created by the desire to improve. How can I do this better? Vision connects the present with the future, a tangible way to get active and achievements are done. Vision is a crucial point in the strategic plan. Nelson et al. (2007) recommend developing a hiring protocol that includes getting the most qualified workers and merging them into the work culture using competency training to focus on the organization’s goals. Annual retreats and reviewing, using the mission statement, vision, and values until incorporated into daily use. As a visionary leader, I will stay in contact with colleagues, be visible, talk to staff and other leaders in informal and formal settings, and send notes congratulating achievements (Marshall and Broome, 2021, Kouzes and Posner, 2017).
How will you challenge the current process to lead change?
Kouzes and Posner (2017) describe methods of transformational change. Change includes doing what you expect others to do, developing a team that wants to achieve more, looking for better ways to get things done, making the organization more effective. Encouraging team members to participate, acknowledge the offering, and honor the deeds of the team members.
What strategies will you use to enable others to act?
I will always look for a better method to do something more efficiently. Reflecting on the past, what worked and what did not work. Reflection allows us not to keep repeating the things that do not work. By doing a strength, weakness, opportunity, and threat (SWOT) analysis, you can assess the internal strengths of your unit (N.A., 2009). Once you have discovered any weaknesses, the leader must make a plan of action to correct the weakness by implementing a change. Making sure the goals are achievable and the staff can perform at the level necessary to accomplish. Finally, if the culture asks robust questions, the path to the strategic plan will be successful (N. A., 2009, Dearlove, 2018).
How will you recognize the contributions of others?
By recognizing the contributions of others, it will show you are supportive in the relationship, practicing leadership deliberately, having and working towards an attainable strategic plan. The team member that gets the best overall average patient satisfaction survey will get employee of the month. The employee of the month reward is a week of easy assignments or a gift certificate. That will encourage everyone to strive for employee of the month. During the postoperative call by the pacu nurse, a few questions about the anesthesia care. It is in the best interest of the team members to give excellent patient service.
