What time of the school day do students perform best?

respond to my colleague post and provide your perspective on repeated measures designs and discuss other research designs that could have been used to answer the research question.

My Colleague post:

“Repeated measures is a term used when the same entities participate in all conditions of an experiment or provide data at multiple time points” (Field, 2018). An example of a research design that would call for a repeated measures ANOVA would be examining what time of the day students performed best: right away in the morning, after lunch, or at the end of the school day.
The research question is what time of the school day do students perform best? The independent variable is time of day. The levels are 8:30 am, 11:30 am, and 2:30 pm. The dependent variable is score on quiz. Students would take a quiz shortly after arriving to school (8:30 am) the first day, after lunch the second day (11:30 am), and at the end of the day (2:30 pm) the third day. The questions on the quizzes will all be similar, but not identical. After the three quizzes are taken, the mean scores of each time will be compared to conclude what time of the day they performed best.
If this study were to be performed using a between-subjects design, the students would be split into three groups. The first group would take the quiz at 8:30 am, the second group would take the quiz at 11:30 am, and the third group would take the quiz at 2:30 pm. The mean score of the three groups would then be compared to find the best performance time of the day.
