What was the most important information you learned during these last two weeks and why? How did this information conflict with or complement what you already knew? To what extent did the example narrative arguments help you to better understand narrative argument strategies and organizational approaches, and the narrative argument as a genre? What specifically did you learn from these readings? What are some specific ways that you will apply what you learned to your own narrative argument writing work and why?
Refer to the Narrative Argument Strategies and Organization instructional page and review the language noticing part of the lesson. Identify at least three language moves that you observed in the assigned reading this week. First, list and describe these moves, and then, for each of the moves, explain:
the effect of that choice on the target audience (Tip: to determine this, it might help to think about what an alternative to that specific move might be and how that would be experienced by the reader differently).
how this language move differs from how you’re used to writing (e.g. you’re used to writing five paragraph essays, but this one has 15 very short paragraphs, or you’re used to having an introduction with a clear thesis statement, but this introduction just places the reader in a scene, etc.)
