What was your largest difficulty in composing the Visual Argument?

INFOGRAPHIC ASSIGNMENT
Infographics are, in a very basic sense, visual arguments. They present a variety of graphic elements—illustrations, tables, charts, statistics—that convey information on a narrowed topic. While many uncritically think the purpose of infographics is to inform, effective infographics seek to persuade viewers to take action or behave in a certain way through an implied “argument.”

For this assignment, you are to create an infographic on a topic of your own choice. Please be aware that this must be a topic you understand well enough to write about without research. If you research for this assignment you will receive a 0. Some simple examples include: How to make grilled cheese (Links to an external site.) and How to run (Links to an external site.).

To create your infographic, you can use Adobe Creative Suite applications (such as Illustrator and/or InDesign), Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.) or one of the many available infographic applications. If you do use an app such as Piktochart, please do not use a pre-made template. Also note that many of the apps allow you to share your creation online only; those that do permit downloads often require a paid subscription. If I cannot open your project, you cannot get a grade. Please make sure that you have a back-up copy saved as a PDF, which I can open and will not mess up your format/design work.

Please write a 100-150 word Author’s Note for your Visual Argument that addresses the following:
1. Who is your intended audience? Why did you choose this audience?
2. What is the claim of your Visual Argument?
3. Which images/information is most persuasive? Why do you think these images/ideas will be effective in persuading your audience?
4. What was your largest difficulty in composing the Visual Argument? Why?
5. What do you see as the greatest strength of your Visual Argument? Why?
Requirements:
Your infographic must contain graphics.
You must have a minimum of 3-5 credible sources, cited in MLA or APA.
Your infographic must make a concise point.
You must have an author’s statement.
