Please write an essay that responds to the following question on Joseph Martin’s autobiography, A Narrative of a Revolutionary Soldier:
What were the most important experiences for American soldiers during the American Revolutionary War (as represented in Joseph Martin’s autobiography)? Explain how these experiences shaped the key battles of the Revolution described in your textbook.
Make a clear argument (thesis) and prove that argument using evidence from Martin’s book and the textbook.
Be sure that your essay responds directly to the question that you have selected. Each essay should be about four to six pages (at least 1000-1200 words). Use Times New Roman 12-point font, double space lines of text, include page numbers in the bottom right-hand side of the paper, and allow for one inch wide margins. Make sure your essay has a title page on top of your paper with your name, title, and the section you are in and that your name is not on any page other than the title page.
Grading will be determined by both the essay content and quality of writing. Avoid inserting long quotations into your essay. A few especially pithy or illuminating quotations make for a strong essay, but quotations are no substitute for your own explanations and interpretations. All quotations and paraphrasing must be properly cited using MLA, APA, or Chicago/Turabian style citation.
This essay will replace the lowest of your paper grades. The final draft is due before midnight on November 15, 2021 on Canvas through www.turnitin.com. Late essays will be penalized one-half letter grade for each day they are overdue.
NO INTERNET SOURCES ARE ALLOWED. ANY PAPER USING UNAUTHORIZED INTERNET SOURCES OR FAILING TO CITE THE BOOKS, INCLUDING PAGE NUMERS, WILL AUTOMATICALLY RECEIVE A GRADE OF ZERO.
