Planning may
be the one area we don’t like talking about, simply because of the fine line of
Holy Spirit guidance and human input; both sides of this line can work in
tandem. The lack of planning becomes quickly apparent, especially in the
context of programming. So, we need a solid philosophy of ministry that is
biblically based as well as solid strategic thinking that will gain the
confidence and support of ministry leadership, school leadership, volunteer
leadership, and student leadership. It has been said,“If you aim at nothing,
you’ll hit it every time.” So, the purpose
of this assignment is to aim at something and put your critical thinking on
paper.

You
will develop a specific philosophy of campus ministry and write 1 – 2 pages
that states the purpose of a campus ministry. Give a specific philosophy of
youth ministry. Where does campus ministry assist in your philosophy?

In
1 – 2 pages, give a description of your ministry. List the number of youth in
your youth group from each middle school and high school in your area and any
demographics you can provide. Also discuss changes needed for a campus
structure:

1. What
programs must be changed or altered to move toward a campus ministry?
2. How
would you go about making these changes? What programs could be retained or
tolerated at the beginning?
3. What
would you feel needs to be changed over the long term?
4. Choose
the schools you would target first. Give the reasons for these choices.
