Introduction to the Question:

We don’t typically want to tell on others, especially our employers, as we owe them some measure of loyalty. But we have enough historical experience to know that sometimes our employers endanger the lives of others – for example, the Pinto case, carcinogenic agents disposed in rivers, and the recent scandal in the Boeing Corporation, in which the CEO lost his job. A whistle blower warns others of such danger, and often
times at personal cost.
