1. How would you describe the level of specificity in the review. How does the level of specificity help make this review more successful? Where are some places in the text where the writing is especially specific?
2. “Tone” is often used to describe HOW the writer talks about a particular subject. For example, a reviewer’s tone might be complimentary, disparaging, snooty, or loving when they describe their subject. How would you describe the tone in this review? Do you think the tone helps the review or does it hinder it? How does it help it, or why does it hurt it?
3. Reviews often need to cover a lot of ground in a fairly short amount of space. How does the reviewer organize their information to make sure you, the reader, are able to follow along and absorb all the information? Do you think their writing could be more organized, or does it have an effective and organized structure already?
4. Pick a line from the review you find particularly effective. What about that line do you find impactful or effective? Pick another line that you don’t find to be as useful or impactful. What about that line is not as effective for you?
5. Do you consider this to be an effective review? To break that down further: what does this review set out to accomplish, and do you think it accomplishes that? Why, or why not?
