While it is important to learn information and data about different cultures or personality preferences, Intercultural Competence is a tool that can be applied to interactions with new cultures and people who are different from ourselves.
During this class, we will discuss why cross-cultural training is best anchored in competencies then lists of dos and don’ts. My first item on a list of dos and don’ts is don’t use dos and don’ts!

HOMEWORK :
Write a 2 page double spaced journal about anything you want to write about. Below are prompts to help you get started.
1. What are your Key Take-Aways from the readings? What do you believe it has to do with building a cross-cultural training program? Which part of this will you incorporate into your Final Training Program?
2. Each Journal Entry must include the following sentences at least once:
– “I think…”,
– “I believe…”,
– “I feel…”,
– “My immediate reaction was…but when I reflect I realize…”
– “Next Steps will include…”,
