Student will research an approved environmental health topic and design an intervention to address the issue.
Student will embed a Kaltura Video of the PowerPoint Presentation
The PowerPoint should at a minimum include 10 slides with the following:
* Nature of the issue and how it occurs
* Describe population and Geographical Location affected with incidence and prevalence rates
* Describe effects of the issue on plants, animals and humans where applicable.
* Describe current interventions (policy, organizational and community)
* Design an intervention to address the issue of concern/preventing future occurrences
Additional information that may be helpful:
Effects: While not all topics will have effects on each (plants, animals and humans), it should at least be noted that research shows that they are not affected for full credit.
Current Intervention: You should include some evidence-based interventions (i.e., peer-reviewed, documented empirical evidence of effectiveness) when describing the current interventions used for your topics. Literature reviews are a good place to start.
Own Intervention: Your designed intervention could include evidence-based strategies to intervene, but you may also include an original thought or proposal. The main goal is to show that you have thoroughly researched the topic and explain how your designed intervention would make a difference to the population selected.
