To prepare for this assignment, you need to have watched the video “The Wisdom of Sociology,” and read/studied the excerpt from C. Wright Mills “The Sociological Imagination.”
Putting your sociological imagination to use, explain how a personal “problem” (such as your decision to attend college) came from the social reality in which you exist. The reflection should be at least 300 words, well written, and reflect an understanding of the concept of sociological imagination. Frame the reflection around your understanding of the three themes Mills poses in his essay (structure, history, culture). I recommend that you use phrases such as “according to Mills…,” “Richards points out that…”. In other words, convince me that you have made an effort to understand the course materials. Don’t be vague.
