Women and girls are trapped in modern slavery by criminal gangs that have perfected the art of human trafficking and prostitution for a long time. However, instead of getting discouraged by the rising number of sex and trafficking cases, these women have found ways to challenge these oppressors.

Final paper should not exceed 5 pages (i.e., 4 pages content and 5th page for works cited), include image, all sources, a creative title, thesis statement, and theoretical framework weaved in analysis. Also, papers should include empowering ways in which women are seeking change, as empowered agents and not as victims. Women of Latin America create larger change via advocacy, grounded movements, organizing, etc.

ABSTRACT: The purpose of this independent research paper is to address the issue of human trafficking and prostitution in Tenancinga, Mexico. It will provide a theoretical framework of feminist research that will address issues women are facing, how they are challenging these issues and oppressions.
