Manual for Working in Teams
The Advantages & Disadvantages of Teams in the Workplace
Based on your own experiences of working in teams and the readings, prepare a paper on the advantages and disadvantages of working in teams. As part of that paper, respond to the following:
Discuss how work groups of the future, including management, will be cross-functional and self-managed. Do you agree or disagree with this shift? Why?
Give at least two examples of cross-functional teams used in other companies. Considering your examples, what do you see as challenges of using cross-functional teams on a time-sensitive new project that you just have been assigned? Be specific.
Your paper should be 500 to 600 words in length. Use proper spelling, grammar, and APA formatting and in-text citations, if used, for your analysis paper.
Use APA Level One Headings (See APA Style) to organize your answers. For your answer to Question 4a, use “The Future – Cross-Functional and Self-Managed Teams” as your first centered heading. For your answer to Question 4b, use “Challenges of Cross-Functional Teams” as your second centered heading.
Your paper should have an APA title page and be in APA format. Make sure you reference resources, any articles you use, or the Bible appropriately when used as an information source (see 1.1 Exercise: Devotion for the proper way to cite the Bible), and include a reference page.
At least one citation is required.
