OVERVIEW
The experience of a personal conversation and/or interview with a person of another faith other
than Christianity is great way of understanding his or her religious beliefs and religious
worldview (meaning what that person believes about a god or god(s) or no god, and how he or
she relates to that deity). By means of engaging with people of other faith positions, you will
gain a much deeper insight into their beliefs and religious perspectives, which in turn will aid
you in ministering to them as a Chaplain and potentially reaching them for Christ in our
pluralistic world with so many religious options.
INSTRUCTIONS
To ensure success for this assignment, you will select a major world religion, interview a
participant or religious leader of the selected religion, and write a paper detailing your interview
and research discoveries. Based on your research of the religion by using academic sources and
based on your interview with a participant of the religion you choose for this assignment, you
will report the interview findings, and then compare and contrast the world religion with
Christianity, providing how you would share Christ with a follower of the religion you selected
for this assignment. (Other religions besides the major world religions may be selected for this
interview assignment with the Instructor’s permission).
Based upon your interview and engagement with a participant of the world religion you selected
for this assignment, you will prepare your paper using 1,800 to 2,700 words and include the
following:
A title page
A table of contents
An introduction
Footnotes in current Turabian formatting
A description of the religion based on your use of academic research
A report of your interview and your research discoveries
A section on how you would share Christ with a follower of the selected religion
A conclusion
A bibliography with at least 5 scholarly sources. Course textbooks may be used as
sources.
