Essay Topic: Write a 1000 word compare and contrast essay where you compare and contrast a specific topic or issue. Make sure you have a clear thesis and specific point to discuss. Make sure that all your sources are good, academic sources that have authority to talk about the topic. Also make sure to choose your topic carefully. The point of this essay is also to showcase your research and documenting skills. Do not pick a topic that has little to no research available. You still have to use scholarly sources and if you choose a topic that compares action movies to horror movies, you may find that the research is lacking. Pick a topic with some depth.
Example thesis: The Republican Party and the Democratic Party both have leaders who feel that they are taking steps to improve the economy, but they disagree on tax cuts, and creating tariffs.
Your first paragraph would talk about how both parties want to improve the economy, your second would focus on their differing opinions on taxes, and the third would talk about how they differ on the economy.
