The cloud security white paper will typically run from 7 to 10 pages long, double spaced with appropriate citations. Try not to exceed 10 pages as this is also measuring your ability to synthesize data and explain it to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Word Problem
Students are working on the cloud team for a hospital looking to host a patient billing application in AWS that includes patient HIPPA data. You are being asked to prepare a report for the CIO/CISO on your design based on the AWS Well-Architected Framework to include the AWS capabilities you will enable.
Although technical, the CIO/CISO is not “in the weeds” so your deliverable should include an executive summary at the strategic level with a technical section for your team for subsequent review. Please feel free to make assumptions as needed as this is designed to measure your real-world applicability of the course content.

This is essentially a “capstone” like an assessment for everything we’ve talked about in this course. You can essentially apply anything you’ve learned in this class to this assignment. You should be conducting both technical works via the tools you’ve learned and administrative reporting in this assignment.
Given AWS Well-Architected Framework, students are to design their proposed architecture and discuss how they will maintain security over patient data.
Students should generate a representative screenshot artifact as applicable to supplement their reports with tools we’ve covered in the class that you’d like to apply.
At a minimum, the report should include an Executive Summary (which is essentially a summary of your detailed report below), a Detailed explanation of (Proposed Architecture, AWS tools that you plan on using, How data security will be maintained, Anticipated cost models of cloud consumption), and Screenshots (Appendix A).
In addition to your white paper, students should record a 5-10 minute executive summary presentation to the CIO/CISO). Students should have the slides in the background and a thumbnail showing themselves similar to my lecture videos and to the project overview below. I use Screencast-O-Matic for my videos, but students can use whatever tool they find most effective. Depending on file size, you can either upload your video to Canvas or post a link to your video at the end of your white paper.
