Write a discussion paper on the climacteric refers to the gradual reduction in sex hormone production that decreases as we age. In women, the climacteric leads to menopause. When menopause sets in, women’s ovaries are no longer able to produce eggs. Among the physical symptoms of menopause are hot flashes, insomnia, thinning of the vaginal lining and vulva skin, and in some cases, rapid heart palpitations, mood swings, and memory changes. One way to go about treating menopausal symptoms is through Menopause hormone Therapy (MHT). This treatment consists of estrogen and progestin; however, its administration is controversial, as it has been associated with gynecological cancers (i.e., breast cancer). As a practitioner, would you recommend MHT to your female patient? Explain why, why not.
