Write a journal entry as an intern student in her week as a school counselor in a high school setting. This week she encountered these situations
Participated in a district-wide training for a new schoolwide program called PowerSchool that the school district will be using
Experienced a school crisis of a school-wide safety lockdown for lockdown due to the fact that there were multiple fights throughout the day involving students. Some of them were considered as brawls. This happened on a Thursday. That Friday the school upgraded security in preparation for a repeat occurrence.
I also experienced witnessing teachers and staff feeling burnt out due to the tomentous school year they have encountered. Due to covid and the high rating in violence throughout the school, the staff feels as if they want to just give up.

Take some time to reflect on this week’s experiences, feelings, and ideas. Write a substantive post not only on the content of your field experiences but, more importantly, on what you gained from your counseling sessions, group guidance, stakeholder interactions, and how you can apply that knowledge in your role as a professional counselor. You may also wish to reflect on the group process or your reactions to school counseling topics discussed in group supervision or the course room. Although this is a personal reflection, your post should demonstrate ongoing critical thought and a professional communication style.
A significant portion of a graduate degree program is writing well and demonstrating the basic rules of grammar, proper spelling, and the current APA Style Manual rules. The first person will be used in this class, but you are still expected to use sources and correct APA format.
