Imagine a tree you have known. (A tree from your childhood? A tree you live near now?)
Imagine its branches.
Imagine the wind blowing through its branches (Could be a soft wind or a strong wind…)
Can you hear the sound that it makes?
Can you try making that sound now?
When you have finished making the sound, close your eyes.
Imagine your tree.
Imagine the width of its trunk. Imagine the shape of its branches.
Now the wind is moving through the tree and it’s producing a pitched tone.
Can you hear it?
Can you try singing this pitched tone now?
Keep imagining your tree and now, for as long as feels right, continue making your wind sound, or your wind tone, or matching any other sound you hear.
—
When you are done, write a brief (200-400 word) response in which you describe the sounds you imagine, the sounds you produced, and the overall experience of this listening activity.
