Write a movie critique about a film that focuses on a historical topic involving American women. The film’s topic should take place before 1865. It is your responsibility to acquire the film; you can check the library or stream many of these films online. For some films, women may not be the focus of the film, but you can focus on their role within it and how they are portrayed.

You should keep a summary of the film to a minimum in your paper. Instead, you should write about your own thoughts concerning the film. should also connect the film to readings from Major Problems and/or online sources from Blackboard. How does the film support or contradict what we have previously learned? Why is the topic of the film important? What does the film tell us about the time period in which it is set, and also, about the time period in which it was made?

Other questions that you can consider in writing your critique include:
Did you learn anything from this movie? If youdid, what was it?
What is the message of this movie? Do you agreeor disagree with it?
Was there something you didn’t understand aboutthe film? What was that?
What did you like best about the movie? Why?
What did you like least about the film? Why?
Who was your favorite character in the movie?Why?
Who was your least favorite character in thefilm? Why?

The paper should also be:
3 pages in length
Times New Roman, 12 pt. font
Double-Spaced
One-inch Margins
You do not need to cite the film unless you usea direct quote from it.
