Although you are relating a personal experience, discuss it sociologically, not emotionally. Use sociological terms, concepts, and theories in your paper. Cite sources where appropriate (use any acceptable citation format, e.g., MLA, APA, ASA, etc.).

Note: I am an African American girl, so I’m guessing it would have to be from that point of view.
