We have focused mainly on the United States for the politics section of this course, yet we know that LGBTQ rights are not only being fought here but in other countries around the world. For this portfolio submission, you are to compare the state of LGBTQ rights in the United States to one other country in the world. Choose three out of the following five categories to compare your country to the US: 1) Legality (or illegality) of same-sex intercourse, 2) Presence (or absence) of same-sex marriage, 3) Laws specifically targeting the Transgender community (such as bathroom laws that occurred in NC), 4) Restrictions on adopting, fostering, or parenting for those in the LGBTQ community, 5) Restrictions on military service. Guidelines: 3-4 pages, double-spaced, 1-inch margins, 12 point Times New Roman font, page numbers. Your paper should include at least one graph or chart and can use reputable newspapers such as The New York Times/Wall Street Journal, academic journals/books, and government websites as sources. DO NOT USE WIKIPEDIA AS A SOURCE. Please include a works cited page at the end of the paper (this should be page 4 or 5).
