Term papers should be approximately 7-9 pages (with no upper limit), double-spaced, 1 inch margins, 11 or 12 point type, plus a Bibliography that should consist of over 75% academic books and articles (i.e., keep newspapers, magazines, internet sources, etc. to a minimum). Papers should be well written, have a stated thesis or objective, a well-organized and articulated analysis of the issues and an argument for and against your thesis, and a conclusion. Research the interest group, Emily’s List (https://www.emilyslist.org/) and write a paper on their influence on political parties, candidates, and elections. Potential Questions: What do they do for candidates? How do they influence elections? What is their mission? What issues do they focus on?
