The research topic and plans must be reviewed by the instructor and include at least 3 external sources. The goal is to facilitate an interactive and collaborative learning experience, deepen your and others’ understanding of the topic (beyond what was already covered in the class), generate rich classroom discussion and learning from it, and practice effective public presentation of a topic.
Your paper should contain the following elements:
1. Introduction: Give background on the issue you are discussing in your paper. Make sure you cite sources for all claims you make in the introduction.
2. Main body of paper: Describe each of the research studies you have found and how they relate to your main argument.
3. Conclusion: Provide suggestions for future areas of research on this topic.
The paper should be 3-5 pages in length, double spaced, 12-point Times New Roman, with 1” margins on all sides and citations (in-text and list of references) in APA format. A cover page in APA format should be included (does not count towards the page limit), but an abstract is not necessary. Follow the citation guidelines of the APA Manual, sixth edition.
