Next, select a problem that your client system will bring to the social work interview. The problem may be any concern for which individuals or groups might seek assistance from a social worker. You must be able to conduct library research about the selected problem. Examples of problems that you might choose include: substance abuse, chronic unemployment, school phobia, grief, diagnosis with serious medical problems, or domestic violence. Do not select a problem that would be out of your scope of practice or that you can’t find research on.
