Write a report on an organization,
movement or group advocating for some form of social justice or human rights. The goal
of the report is to show how ideals of rights and justice are put into practice in diverse
and complex situations. The report should be 8-10 pages (12-point font, double-spaced
with appropriate margins).
This assignment asks you to incorporate 1) materials and ideas discussed in the
course, 2) information about an organization, movement or group that has worked, or is
currently working towards social justice or human rights, and 3) Academic information
about the area of social justice or human rights in which your subject works. Acceptable
subjects for this analysis could include historical, contemporary, international, local,
professional or grassroots groups*. Reports need only to focus on one group, but in
some cases, a comparison of two groups may be permitted. Outside research will be
necessary for this report and as such students are required to include at least 5
academic sources. These sources could include academic books or journal articles, as
well as organizational reports, white papers or government documents
* Examples of groups could include:
Amnesty International Capital Pride
Human Rights Watch Minwaashin Lodge
Freedom House Ontario Coalition Against Poverty
Save the Children Canadian Women’s Suffrage Association
World Vision Acorn Canada
Red Cross/Red Crescent Black Lives Matte
There is a link that led you to the note I took during the class. You see in my google notes there are topics on what each reading is about. The instruction said we can use outside research but also show reading prove of what we learn in the class (which is on my note, the google doc link below), so use the heading to search about the topic and learn more (if you don’t understand my note). The prof grades based on his instruction, don’t need to go overboard of what he wants us to do.
