Write a research paper on a selected family violence topic with a minimum of 6 reference sources, at least 3 of which must be research or theoretical
articles from peer-reviewed journals.
Abstract.
The abstract is no more than 3-4 sentences and is placed on the bottom of the title
page.
A reference page is required, using ASA documentation style. In text citations, use
ASA style
1. Your research paper will present a discussion of what your selected journal articles
and other reference sources contribute to current knowledge about your selected topic.
2. Include a brief (3-4 sentence) abstract that summarizes the contents of your paper.
What will someone read about in your paper?
3. Your paper should include an introductory section that (a) identifies your topic and
reason for selecting it; (b) specifies the relevance of your specific topic in building a
comprehensive understanding of family violence, and (c) summarizes what will be
discussed in the paper. In other words, what specific areas did your reference sources
address that you will be presenting in your paper?
4. Following the introduction is your discussion of what you learned from the reference
sources. This discussion should cite all references listed on your reference page,
demonstrating what each contributes to your understanding of the topic and family
violence, more generally.
5. Include a concluding section that (a) summarizes what you learned from your
research and reading of the selected references; (b) evaluates the quality of the
information presented in your references; and (c) discusses the implications for family
violence practice, policy, and future research. All three areas need to be addressed in a
summary manner.
