Write a research paper on the Diversity in the workplace .The following are the topic and instructions I need to write an essay about. For background: I work at as a judicial intern in a courthouse and I need to write about how I find diversity and inclusion in my workplace. The following are the instructions from my Professor. It doesn’t need to address every issue just a mix of the following ideas.
1. Essay 3—Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in your Field Placement. As members of a self and peer-policing professional community, lawyers must take responsibility for our actions and our legal institutions in fighting racism and other forms of discrimination. Reflect on your placement’s approach to diversity, equity, and inclusion (“DEI”) and anti-racism. How does your placement’s mission, policies, culture, norms, workforce make-up, or other aspects demonstrate its approach to DEI? Please consider some or all of these questions:
o · Does your workplace have a stated DEI policy or a mission statement that incorporates DEI? Consider the documents provided to you as an extern, as well as information provided to the public (such as on its website). If so, what do you think of the policy?
o · What does it mean to you to be an organization that promotes DEI, an organization that strives to be culturally competent, or an anti-racist organization? Separately from any policy or mission statement, does your organization align with those values?
o · How does the legal work of your field placement align with DEI goals? Bear in mind that it might be connected organically (for example, civil rights work or criminal defense) or in a more attenuated way (for example, medical malpractice or general litigation).
o · Why might it benefit a legal organization to employ a diverse group of people? Reflect on the dimensions of diversity in your workplace. This could include identity, education, perspectives, and any other dimensions.
o · What are areas of DEI strength in your workplace and where could it strengthen its commitment to DEI (areas of growth)? In considering this, you may compare and contrast with other workplaces you have experienced.
o · Is your workplace one that is welcoming of conversations around diversity, equity, and inclusion? How have you seen this communicated or reflected? Is the placement’s approach spoken or unspoken?
