Write a research paper using the topic, “Where in the evidence hierarchy does a literature review fit in?”The completion of a review of the literature with critical appraisal and synthesis will ensure students use analytic methods and determine if there is sufficient, quality evidence to justify the proposed practice change as part of a quality improvement DNP project. There is no specific number of articles to include in the evidence review table. The review, however, must be comprehensive. Students are expected to discuss their table of evidence with their project site mentor, key administrators, and staff within the organization. This helps establish the students’ credibility in identifying key and relevant studies and critiquing the evidence.
Students will develop a logical approach to the review of the literature focused on the background clinical question (from the QDT). Present a summary of your search criteria (one or two paragraphs) including adequate detail that supports a PRISMA process. Using a Word template already formatted as APA 7th edition compliant, use two or three subheadings to organize your review. Examples of subheadings include the primary problem; barriers and obstacles; solutions and strategies. Narrative should not exceed 3 to 5 pages. A table of evidence (use the template) accompanies the narrative explanation.
