Write a thoughtful, coherent, interesting two page essay—five paragraphs–on one
of the questions in this unit. Focus on something very specific, state clear ideas,
arrange them in a meaningful order, support them with appropriate details
(including quotations from text), and edit carefully for standard grammar and
mechanics. Remember that you can often improve a paper by revising it, clarifying
ideas, adding details, sometimes rearranging parts. After you have written the essay,
provide it with a suitable title. Do not forget to format the paper according to MLA
rules and conventions with a Works Cited page. Check samples at the end of the
