Write about an issue related to a patient that you have
taken care of during clinical rotation. This could be a patient in
the prenatal clinic, in the labor and delivery area or postpartum. It can be
any aspect of her care – it does not have to be a problem.
Write about any part of her care that interests you. For example, you
have cared for a patient who had a normal labor and birth. You could write
about the nursing interventions involved in her care that you performed or
witnessed. You can also write about the nursing interventions you thought
should have occurred but didn’t. For example, your patient had a normal
pregnancy and a normal labor but she had continuous fetal monitoring. According
to evidence-based practice, she could have had intermittent fetal monitoring.
