Though their reputation has perhaps become diluted as they began to proliferate, I still certainly think most TED talks are quite fascinating. Even though TED stands for (or at least originally stood) for ‘Technology, Entertainment, and Design,’ the talks cover a huge array of topics.

While you are welcome to choose a talk that addresses a topic you are already interested in, it might be particularly interesting to select a talk that is about something you know very little about.
Identify the speaker/speech that you viewed, include the link to the talk in your post, and please respond to the following:
1. What is the main theme/thesis of the speech, and how can you encapsulate the speaker’s goal in terms of a paradigm shift – what are they recommending needs to be the new way of thinking about something, the new technology that will serve to address a pressing issue (or whatever else they may be suggesting that endorses a paradigm shift in thought, action, or technology)?
What were some of the most important ideas you took from the speech? How, and how well, did the speech expand your understanding of the topic?
2. What is strong (and/or problematic) about this speaker’s presentation style? What does this example show you about the difference between delivering a speech and doing a presentation? Which best describes this speaker/speech, and why?
