Write an analytical paper (double-spaced and properly cited) examining an artwork’s racial, class, gender or cultural interventions, implications and/or challenges. Students are required to choose an artwork from any aesthetic form such as film, literature, poetry, music, etc., and analyze the work using the theories and concepts discussed throughout the course.
You are REQUIRED to select at least ONE artwork from at least ONE artist. However, you can select multiple artworks from the same artist, or one artwork from multiple artists (but this is optional). Moreover, you will also collect at least 10 bibliographic sources consisting of both editorial and scholarly texts. Additionally, you are required to use at least 2 sources from the course ( I included the 2 sources that can be used). Remember that Wikipedia, YouTube, or Spark Notes are NOT citable sources. You can only cite scholarly and editorial sources in your paper.
Your essays must have a strong introduction and thesis statement, and must
demonstrate this thesis through the use of relevant textual citation (including, but not
necessarily limited to, directly quoted text) and consistent argumentation.
Your grade will be based on the following: 1) a clear and concise thesis statement,
2) using at least one art form, 3) following sources and citation guidelines, and 4)
coherence and clarity of writing (correct grammar and punctuation and consistent
argumentation).
