Write an analytical paper that discusses the contemporary integration of China and/or Vietnam into global capitalism.

largely determined by how well you answer the prompt. Make sure to answer each item instruction listed below.
Use course materials (readings, lectures, discussion, videos) to add context or insight to your discussion.
Be sure to cite materials you are referencing.

Instructions:
The final assignment will be an analytical paper that discusses the contemporary integration of China and/or
Vietnam into global capitalism.
– In the first part of the response: Briefly discuss this new epoch of globalization using the theory of
global capitalism. Discuss how globalization is different from the previous waves of capitalist
expansion.
– Follow up with a discussion of globalization using the case of Vietnam OR China OR both. Discuss the
country’s process of re-integration from socialism to capitalist globalization. How can the process be
understood within the historical framework of globalization? Reference the historical material
conditions within the country and connect them to wider transformations in the world capitalist system.
You can bring in historical conditions from the 19th to 20th century to make your points.
– Lastly, bring in one news item from the various news sources that are provided in Week 5 to discuss
globalization in Asia. You will need to identify one contemporary event in Asia and contextualize it to
what has been discussed in class. Be sure to cite the news source(s) used for the contemporary event at
the end of the response.
