Write an anlysis on the poems by William Carlos William’s “The Widow’s Lament in the Springtime” and of “The River Merchant’s Wife”

Many of the poems that we have been reading for this class have discussed similar topics. For this topic, select two poems about the same theme/subject matter (Love, Art, Sex, Nature, Politics, Religion, Gender, Age, etc.) and conduct a critical analysis comparing and contrasting the ways that these poems treat this theme/subject matter. Remember, it is not enough to simply say, “These are both about death.” Instead, you must discuss how these poets used particular poetic qualities/conventions to evoke a similar/different image/meaning/understanding around this theme/subject matter. Note the situations within these poems, the language, the authors’ use of imagery, the structure of the poems, the tone, who the speaker(s) is/are, etc.; and, in doing so, explain how these may be interrelated and the ways that they work to shape or influence meaning/understanding.
I’m doing poems by William Carlos William’s “The Widow’s Lament in the Springtime” and Pound’s translation of “The River Merchant’s Wife” both explore the ways in which love finds people.
While Pound and William’s pieces are similar in that the romantic relationships presented both have unhappy endings, the speaker in Pound’s translation tells their own story, while the speaker in William’s piece speaks for someone else.
