Write an argumentative essay (2-4 pages) on a topic of your choice. Select a current issue that concerns you or an issue that you want changed. You may choose a topic relating to campus, local, national, or world interest. You may NOT write on capital punishment, abortion, gay marriage, or gun control.

You should develop a strong thesis and an essay map and present three or four well-developed reasons supporting your thesis in a two to four-page paper. I will be interested in the organization, logical strength, and development of your arguments. For resources, you may consult websites, magazines, newspapers, or scholarly articles and use general information from those sources. If you use exclusive information or someone’s ideas, you must cite the reference using MLA formatting. Be careful that you do not plagiarize by borrowing ideas or text generated by someone else without citing the information.
