Write an essay supporting why cell phones should be used while driving.

Prepare a 6-8-minute speech. The theme for this speech is “Making a Difference in the World” and you must choose a topic that in some way supports and advances this theme. Think about what truly moves your heart and makes you (want to) take action. Generally, for this topic, students choose to speak on an issue that will make a difference based on gender, ethnicity, ethics, morals, culture, religion, or social issues, etc. that relate to you, your audience, and your environment. This is mostly a question of value or policy and should be organized appropriately. Your topic must be approved by your professor.
Remember, most people talk between 110-150 words per minute. Once you have written your outline, you must practice and time it to make sure you have the correct amount of information for the speech.
You are to explore a topic, then conduct a survey of attitudes held by your classmates and the actual audience of your speech. You will provide the link to the survey for your classmates and also your actual audience members. Other important information to consider might be demographic information about the audience. Additionally, identify and address any problems with, or deficiencies in, your audience’s understanding (and/or inclination towards) your topic. In other words, convince your audience of your Persuasive Speech topic.
The audience analysis and adaptation page is a 1-2-page document in which you describe the questions you asked classmates in your survey and how your audience responded. What do these responses tell you about your audience? How do they feel about your topic? What will you need to research and discuss in order to convince them to take your side in this final speech? Remember the audience analysis exercise that we did in class. These are just some of the questions you can answer on your analysis
Be sure you know what your specific goal and central idea are.
Wrap things up effectively in your conclusion. REMEMBER saying” THAT’S IT” is not an effective conclusion. Review introductions and conclusions in the SmartBook, chapter 10, to ensure that you are meeting these criteria. Your speech must include a call to action, an appeal, or a challenge in the conclusion.
Five References are required for this speech and you must cite your sources in APA or MLA format in the outline. You can cite more as needed. You will cite the sources in the Body of the preparation outline, at the end of the outline in a reference section, and out loud during the speech. Review the guidelines for oral citations in your textbook. Multiple documents are required for this speech. Be sure to submit all required documents in Brightspace, by the deadline. No late work will be accepted in this final speech. Documents include, but are not limited to an outline, survey questions, an annotated bibliography, and an audience analysis summary.
At least three of five resources must come from the City Colleges of Chicago Libraries resources (online or on-ground). Wikipedia is not allowed as a resource. Remember, only one (1) interview can be used as a reference.
Any outline that does not cite five sources in-text within the outline and on a reference page will earn a score of 0 (zero) points.
