Write a letter to the editor suitable for submission to The New York Times, following the NYT guidelines page 1 or half a page.
Page 1-2:
Write an Op-Ed column like a New York Times op-ed. The column should be at least 500 words in length, (Feel free to write more, if you want.) As we have discussed before, an Op-Ed column represents the opinion of the writer and is designed to persuade the reader to embrace the writer’s opinion. The easiest and most direct approach is to write a column that expresses your own actual view on a subject you feel strongly about. However, in this case, if you prefer, you may adopt any view that you want to express persuasively and write the column as if it were your own view. It should be helpful for you to remember the tips and other advice you learned in studying and discussing Trish Hall’s “Writing to Persuade” book in the first half of the semester and in reading and discussing New York Times Op-Ed columns that you especially liked or disliked in several Workweeks’
