Tips for the paper

Turn on your “no spacing tab” or use your line spacing command before starting any academic paper.
Use the APA guide I provide for citations and references. When referencing online sources, type Retrieved on (the date you found the source) from – and then paste the URL. See the APA guide below.
Do not add a cover page- just put your information in the header as mentioned in the rubric.
Start your paper with: Dear Director Smith (or any other person who you want as an audience), Then expand on this concept as a starting point by writing a more expanded version of: You and I recently discussed Chapter xx (a previous chapter) where we determined that (fill in the blank). You then asked me to review Chapters (fill in the blank). I believe the three most important concepts in the first chapter xx are (concept 1, concept 2, concept 3 fill in the blank). Then I will review the second chapter xx you asked me to, where the three most important concepts are concept 1, concept 2, concept 3 (continue with the 3rd chapter). I will justify my belief by listing each of these and explaining why each one is important ….then reiterate your reasons in your conclusion. Be creative in how you set up your introduction and conclusion. Be more flexible, creative, and humorous than the example provided here.
Write back to your audience in your conclusion paragraph by saying something like: As you can see Director Smith, based on my research,Toyota should expand into x, because of a, b, c reasons.
Or: As you can see my research demonstrates that Exxon Mobile should be more socially responsible because x, y, z. You must mention your audiences name in your conclusion.
When you quote something, you use both quotation marks around the quoted words and a page or paragraph number in your citation. When you paraphrase something, you do not use a page number or quotation marks. Study the APA style sheet at the end of the syllabus and learn this for the next paper.
The guiding principle behind using APA format is to give credit to the author(s) who wrote the article or book. If there is no author listed, you put – no author or Anonymous. In APA the author is always listed,or you put Anonymous in both your citations and references. Your job in professional writing is to give credit where credit is due. If someone wrote it, give them credit.
Here is the Pilcrow symbol to use to indicate a paragraph from an online source, such as (Moore, 2020, ¶ 34). You can find this symbol by going to insert > symbol > then searching for the symbol, or just copy and paste mine above. Use (Moore 2020, p. 34) for a text-based book or article.
