• Your assignment is to write an open letter about a major change you would like to see happen. This letter should reflect your experiences.
• It can be written to government leaders, fellow students, teachers, American citizens….really anyone! (Don’t worry–you don’t have to send it.)
• To determine your topic, think of a “hot topic” (a topic you find in the media) that you feel strongly about.
• You should include research as it supports your rationale. Make sure you also cite appropriately.
• Address and define the problem. Give lots of examples and details. Include WHY change must happen. Finally, include a proposal or a “call action.” How should people work to change this particular problem?
• You may use first and second person.
