Claim/Counterclaim/Concede/Refute: State your claim and acknowledge counterclaims. Concede in some minor ways to the opposing viewpoint, but come away from those concessions with a stronger argument to refute the main counterclaims.
Rhetorical Appeals: Use arguments that appeal to ethos, pathos, and logos.
Evidence: Use multiple types of evidence (data & statistics, facts & details, personal experience & anecdote, and research & expert opinion). Use only the most important/convincing evidence from your sources.
Style: Use diction to convey a tone that will be convincing to your audience. Use figurative language, allusions, and/or imagery to create pictures and associations for your audience. Use syntax to emphasize important moments, enhance flow, and create parallels.
